What to Do When It Feels Like Jesus Isn’t Coming!

Are you tired of what you’ve been going through? Does it seem like you’ve been holding on, doing everything right—or at least trying and what you’ve been going through doesn’t seem to get any better?
You may have kept the faith, prayed and sown kindness. You may have served when you were tired, discouraged, fed up or empty. Additionally you’ve probably had to encouraged others while feeling like you had nothing left for yourself. And still… no breakthrough. No change. No sign that Jesus is moving. Can you relate to any of this? If you can, rest assured it’s not just you feeling that way, there are a lot of people feeling that way even if it is unspoken.

We have found that when you have been waiting a long time, doing a lot and helping others even when you may be spent yourself, you can begin to feel weary. Not just tired— but weary, exhausted, fed up, just plain over it. You can begin to feel Soul-deep weary. And it can being to make you wonder if you are doing all of that for others, why aren’t your circumstances any better? Why aren’t they changing and what about your unanswered prayer?
Can we talk honestly for a moment? You might be wondering what is up with Jesus? If He’s YOUR Lord and Savior, where is He? Is He late, busy, unavailable, missing or is He not getting your messages? Like YOU might be reading articles and stories about Jesus, praying, going to church or Bible study and you can’t help but wonder, “but what about me” Did you forget me Jesus? Did you hear my prayers for help Jesus?
You’re probably not asking for much. Just some kind of sign that help is on the way. That the burden will lift. That the healing will come. That the season will shift. But it’s been silence. Delay. Closed doors. Maybe even more pain stacked on top of what was already too much. Anybody know what we’re talking about?

But listen—what if Jesus’ silence isn’t absence? What if His delay is strategy?
What if Jesus is doing something deeper than a quick fix? What if what you’ve been praying about, asking for or looking for Jesus to do to help, takes more than a “minute, more than a few days or more than several months?
Sometimes, the hardest part of walking with Jesus is waiting with Him. Because let’s be real—waiting feels like wasting when you don’t know what’s being worked out behind the scenes.
But friend, Jesus is working. And He will show up.

You’re Not Alone in the Waiting;
Let us tell you about Deborah. She waited for years for Jesus to restore her broken marriage. Her prayers were steady, but the silence felt suffocating. She once told us, “I thought Jesus had turned His back on me.” But He hadn’t. He was softening her husband’s heart in secret. One night, completely unexpected, her husband came home with tears and a repentant heart. He said, “I kept hearing your prayers in my dreams. I couldn’t escape the love you kept showing me.” Jesus was moving—just not in the way she expected.
And then there’s Marcus. He lost his job and couldn’t find work for over a year. He applied to hundreds of positions. Nothing. He cried out, “Jesus, where are You?” But in that dry season, Jesus led him to start a small blog to encourage others who were struggling. That blog exploded into a business. Today, he hires others who’ve been down and out. Jesus wasn’t ignoring Marcus—He was redirecting him.

Here’s What Might Really Be Going On;
When you feel weary in well doing, Jesus isn’t withholding help—He’s developing you. Not to punish you, but to prepare you. Sometimes He hides the harvest to protect it. He keeps you in the quiet place so the enemy can’t sabotage what’s growing underground. What feels like delay is often divine insulation.
Jesus may be working through people you haven’t met yet. Maybe He’s rearranging a system, opening a door that isn’t ready to be walked through. Maybe He’s holding back the breakthrough because the you on the other side will need the lessons learned in this season. He sees the entire picture.
This season isn’t empty. It’s sacred.

What You Can Do Now;
Start asking Jesus the real questions. Not just, “When will You fix this?” but…
- “What are You trying to show me?”
- “How are You revealing Yourself to me in this?”
- “Who am I becoming in this season?”
- “How can I hear You right now, even here?”
Then listen. Not just with your ears, but with your spirit. Jesus might answer through a sudden thought you’ve never had. A sermon clip that randomly plays. A stranger’s encouragement. A blog post like this. Even a line from a movie, a song on the radio, or a scripture on a billboard.
Jesus is so creative in how He speaks. He knows how to reach you.
If your heart is tired, Jesus understands. He felt it too. He wept at Lazarus’ tomb—even though He knew resurrection was coming. He groaned in Gethsemane. He asked the Father for another way.
You’re not wrong to feel the weight. But take heart—He is with you in it.
Your harvest is not lost. Your breakthrough is not denied. It is simply being prepared in perfect love.

You’ve waited this long, we encourage you to keep patiently waiting..Jesus will come…He will show up…He will help, until He does, let’s pray;
Jesus,
You see the one reading this. You know how long they’ve been waiting. You know the nights they’ve cried, the moments they’ve almost quit, the questions they’ve been afraid to ask. You’ve counted every tear, and You’ve never looked away.
Come now, Jesus, and bring peace to their weary soul. Whisper Your love into their questions. Let Your presence rest over them like a warm blanket of hope. Show them the gentle ways You’ve been moving, even in silence. Speak through the everyday. Surprise them with answers wrapped in grace.
Give them fresh strength today—not to strive, but to trust. Fill them with divine rest, deep assurance, and renewed clarity. Light up their path one step at a time, and remind them: You are not late. You are right on time.
Thank You, Jesus, that You care. Thank You that You’re already at work. Thank You that You will absolutely bring them through.
In Your name, amen.

Keep holding on, beloved. You will see the goodness of Jesus in the land of the living. He’s not just coming—He’s already closer than you think.
What have you been waiting on Jesus for? Would you take a moment to ask Him now—and just listen?
