I teach at Christian Leadership University. While teaching one of my seminars I felt a sense of confusion and discomfort as I was preparing to get ready to teach. The topic I was teaching about was about being a vessel of Christ, but something didn’t feel right. I didn’t know what it was and could not figure it out. So after coming up with no answers I thought that the best thing to do was Pray and see what happened. So, I went to the Lord in prayer and asked several questions. The questions that I asked were; Why was I uncomfortable about teaching this? How do you, God, want me to teach this class? Those questions led to other questions. Are we supposed to be vessels of Christ? Is that all we are or is there more for us Dear God? God answered my questions and I wrote down part of what He told me.

Below is part of that prayer and what God told me.

My question; So, Lord, what was my problem? Why am I uncomfortable when I teach the seminar on Naturally Supernatural?

God’s Answer; Mark, you have been accentuating the fact that you are a vessel. Mark, you are more than a vessel – this is union. Eventually you become conscious of Me at all times; When you do become conscious of me, there is no more illusion of separation. You no longer think that I am separate from you. There comes the revelation that we are one, and so Your life and Your vocabulary take on a whole new perspective.

You no longer say that “I am the negative and God is the positive.” You are joined to me, so you have become positive, for you have learned to live out of your roots at all times, and to be conscious of your roots at all time. You are no longer self conscious. You are constantly Christ conscious. So you no longer say, “I am the negative and Christ is the positive.” The new reality is that the two have become one. You say “I” and you mean “Christ.” So you begin saying, “I am the positive.”

There is a progression. You go from speaking of:

– “I” living, out of my own strength, to
– “I” stepping into the indwelling Spirit of Christ within me
– “I” living who is the “Christ working in and through me to do God’s will

Those are the stages one goes through. You are actually in the third stage at this point in your life, and you were talking as though you were in the second stage. Thus you experienced confusion. You have not distinguished the fact that there is a progression in one’s revelation and thus one’s vocabulary as he goes through this process.

You can see from my conversation with God, that He not only heard me, He clearly answered me. So if you are confused about where you are and what stage you are at with Christ or with God, pray, ask the questions and then wait for the answers. If you are confused or have ever been confused about your walk with Christ, Understand that When we invite Jesus Christ into our lives, He comes in and becomes our personal Lord and Savior, so immediately we begin our lives with Christ. Although we begin our lives with Christ, it takes a while to begin figuring out how it all works. We all go through these phases of our understanding of who we are in Christ, but as Christ’s Spirit is perfected in us, we begin to grow, mature and do the work of Christ to fulfill God’s plans and purposes in the Earth Realm. Though we may not fully understand that we are actually going through these stages, Christ understands and wants to help you no matter what stage you are in right now.  If you don’t understand, Pray. He’s just a prayer away! We  challenge you to consider these truths in prayer and ask yourself   “What stage am I in?”

If you don’t know what stage you are in or can’t figure out what stage you are in, Jesus Christ offers to help you! Do you want or need His help to figure out what stage you are in? If so, join us in this simple prayer;

Dear Jesus,
I have accepted you as my personal Lord and Savior, however, I am confused about where I am at with you and what stage of development you may perceive me as being at in my consciousness of you. I therefore humbly submit my petition to you  for help and I  invoke your prayerful presence, your powerful help, and your guidance to show me what stage I am at in my development of being Christ Conscious.. Help me to navigate the terrains of uncertainty that surround me, I humbly ask and pray as I do not want to walk around in Spiritual Blindness anymore deaf to your You, Deaf to God, and ignorant of the Spirit of God within me that desires to be made known.  Help me My Dear Lord and Savior, I humbly ask and Pray. Help me My Father God, I ask and pray. -Amen!
