Christ has made you new!

Jesus is the Way Maker, Miracle Work, and Promise Keeper (Leeland, Waymaker) and He has worked a miracle in you! As a believer, you are a new creation in Christ. Jesus paid the price for your sin and made a way for you to be made completely new. You are a new creation!

2 Corinthians 5:16-18 NKJV – “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation”

The only requirement for becoming a new creation is to be “in Christ”. Isn’t that amazing?! You don’t have to do the work. Jesus did it for you. He is the way (John 14:6) and He has made a way for you to have new life!

You have a new citizenship.  No longer are you a citizen of your country, but the truer truth in your life is that you have become a citizen of Heaven (Philippians 3:20).  That means that you have access to Heaven – now. You’re citizenship includes all of Heaven!

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NKJV – “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”

Therefore, as citizens of Heaven, you are also an ambassador.  Ambassadors represent their homeland in other places. In other words, as ambassadors of Christ, you represent (or re-present) Christ on the earth. You are now a son or a daughter of the Most High and your citizenship is of another kingdom – the Kingdom of God!

You are a new creation in Christ – that’s the truth (2 Corinthians 5:17) – but do you live from this truth?  If your answer to this question is no or not all the time then you’re probably under the influence of a lie. There are so many lies we believe about ourselves here are a few:

* No one cares about me

* I don’t have what it takes

* No one loves me

* There is no hope

Do you struggle with one or more of these lies?  If so, you have the power to disempower them in your life and live from the truth of what God says about you. How? Whatever we agree with we empower. Yes, it is your agreement with the lie that actually empowers the lie. When you come out of agreement with a lie and reposition that agreement with the truth you get free!  You are a new creation in Christ, therefore, John 8:32 is a promise for you, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Maybe its time to get rid of some lies and start believing who God says you are!

You are a new creation in Christ and a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.  What does actually mean?

* You are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27)

* You are known (Jeremiah 1:5)

* You are a child of God (1 John 3:1)

* You have an inheritance (Ephesians 1:11)

* You are adopted as a son or daughter (Ephesians 1:5)

* You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

* You are a friend of God (John 15:15)

…and the list could go on and on. It’s important that you spend time in the Word of God asking the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. We are promised that the truth will set us free (John 8:32) and knowing the truth is the way to the promise. Isn’t it amazing that simply getting to know The Word (John 1:14) is the way to freedom!

You are a new creation in Christ and you are actually carrying the answer that the world is searching to find.  The Lord has set eternity on the hearts of men (verse) and Jesus is the desire of the nations (Haggai 2:7). Many are searching to fill the God shaped hole in their hearts and you have the answer. Your purpose is to fulfill the Great Commandment,

Matthew 22:36-39 NKJV – “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

You are a new creation. Choose love the Lord and your neighbors. What could be more loving that to share the Good News of how Jesus Christ has transformed your life; how He has made you a new creation. You don’t have to be a pastor or a preacher in order to share what Jesus has done in your life. All you have to do is be willing to share your story. What has He done for you? How has He changed your life? What does it feel like to experience His love and hope?  Above all, share your story so the power of the Gospel can released!
