What if Jesus needs you to be His hands and feet?

The world is getting a whole less loving. As we draw closer to the end of days things are getting darker and darker. People confess Jesus with their lips, but if Jesus needs them to be His hands and feet in the world, they say something like “Jesus don’t make me take that homeless drunk out for a steak dinner with my friend.”

Before you say no to who Jesus asks you to help, get some information about who you are being asked to help.

Do you know that in Australia a person can not get a Social Security income each two weeks if he has not got a fixed postal address? These people have no money; have to sleep out on concrete, each night and go from shelter to shelter to get free food and drinks.

When one of these people asks you for money for something to eat this doesn’t always have to be a lie.

One way to go the extra mile is not just giving him $ 2.00 toward a meal or his addiction, but to ask him to come with you and take him for a good meal, and some desert. You may not miss that $ 40 you might spend on him that night, and you might even forget that man, but we assure he will never forget that night and that expensive steak and wonderful desserts and neither will Jesus.

Jesus says that though there might not be a reward or you on earth, and the homeless guy will not be able to pay you back, your reward will come from the God when you get to Heaven.

Understand how hopeless the person feels begging you for money.

If you think these guys are lazy that live on the streets and that they should get a job and get off the streets, you might want to ask them how degrading it is to beg people each day and night.

Other less honest people that have drug or alcohol addiction might rob people and steal their wallets, or break into you car to steal you cell phone and take it to a Hock shop.

People judge these people and pretend that they don’t even see them or hear them ask for money, yet this person is one of the people that God wants you to take off the streets that he spoke about in the sheep and goats parable.

It might not hurt you much to give them ten dollars, but giving them ten dollars will save them getting that by five to ten people taking pity on them.

Someone we know told us that they begged a man for money so they could buy a nice bottle of soda to share, and the man said he wanted to watch it be bought. So the drink was bought right in front of him and he was happy.

It  must be very humiliating to beg for money, can you imagine how the homeless person feel begging you, but usually their desperation drives them to ask hundreds of people before they can get any help. We hope we have shared enough here for you to have mercy on the street people and next time Jesus allows a street person in your path, you will say “Yes” to helping them and be Jesus hands and feet.

Be Blessed
