Jesus Died so you could gain Eternal life!

God’s only Son, Jesus, He died on the cross. Since being born from Mary, Jesus had lived the way the Lord wants us to live. Jesus proved that if He could live in a way, as a man, that would save the human race, then certainly we could save ourselves from our own sins. There is a reason why Jesus Christ was sent to us and chose to live the simple life of a carpenter.

The crucifixion was a long time coming. It did not seem like it, but it didn’t transpire overnight. First Judas betrayed Jesus for a bag of coins. Then the Son of God was arrested. He was tried, convicted, and then He was punished and tortured. He was forced to carry His cross, our sins, to the top of the mountain where He was tied down, nailed, and left to suffer and die before His loved ones. Is that awful?

But Christ saw all of this coming. Nothing was a surprise to Him anymore. He knew what was in store for Him and what God had planned for Him, and He did it all in order to save mankind. He rested His life in the hands of the Father, the Lord. By dying on the cross, Jesus Christ saved us from the consequences of our sins. By dying on the cross, Jesus Christ gave each person that invited Him and accepted Him into their lives as their personal Lord and Savior, the opportunity to be reconciled to God and the chance to gain eternal life!

Here’s a sample Bible quote conveying what Jesus thought and what He said as He lay on the cross awaiting death:

“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.

In you, O LORD, I take refuge;

let me never be put to shame.

In your justice rescue me.

Into your hands I commend my spirit;

you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God.” Luke 23:46

It is funny how the life and death of the Son of God paralleled another important event in the Bible verses: the flight of the Israelites from the plague. If you can remember, the Lord sent the plague to kill all first born sons. But the Israelites managed to save their first borns by offering a sacrifice.

This story mirrors the life and death of Jesus Christ. When Christ was nailed on top of the hill, he became the sacrificial lamb that would save the human race. Nobody could bear the weight of the sins of Man. Only Jesus Christ, the Son of God, could do it. The Lord loved us so much that He gave up His only Son for our salvation.

Then God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, resurrected on the third day became a huge miracle for Christianity and the followers of Jesus Christ, He did that willing for God and for you so that you could gain eternal life. Let’s thank God for Jesus Christ, and for the sacrifice He willing made for us so that we could have the chance to be reconciled to God and so that we could gain eternal life!
