Jesus Wants to help you if you’re depressed!
If you’ve found yourself feeling down about life a lot lately and if you have found yourself finding it difficult to concentrate or difficult to go on, you might be depressed. Depression in life is not unusual but normal these days to many people especially because of the heavy burdens that life seems to demand that folks carry. If you think you could be depressed, you don’t have to suffer through your depression alone, Jesus Christ wants to help you. He wants to help you through the dark valley of depression that keeps you from living life and having the abundant life that He spoke about in John 10:10. In John 10:10, Jesus Christ said that He had come to give YOU life and to give that life more abundantly. But life more abundantly is not what most folks are experiencing these days, the dark wet valley of depression is drawing people in and trying to keep them there. If that sounds like you, depression doesn’t have to be your lot in life or your final portion in life.
If you think you are depressed or could be suffering from depression, Jesus Christ wants to help you. He wants to come into your circumstances and turn your mourning into joy. He wants to heal the hurts that the wounds of life may have inflicted upon you. He wants to completely turn around all of the bad things that have happened in your life for your good, and for God’s glory when you lay your troubles and burdens down before Him and give Him time to work. You don’t have to stay in the dark clutches of depression when you invite Jesus Christ into your circumstances and ask Him to help you.
There is so much depression in the world today until Pfizer Inc., which is the world’s biggest pharmaceutical company, has manufactured one of the most prescribed antidepressant in the United States-Zoloft. Zoloft is the medical treatment for major depression, which affects more than 19 million adults in the United States, including other neurologic disorders. Taking the drug, however, entails much consideration due to the side effects of Zoloft.
Major depressive disorder is a syndrome – group of symptoms – characterizing a sad and/or irritable mood which is no longer the usual sadness or grief. The sadness of depression, in particular, is more intense and longer in duration that it interferes with everyday life.
The symptoms of depression may include but are not limited to:
– Difficulty concentration, remembering details, and making decisions
– Fatigue and decreased energy
– Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or hopelessness
– Feelings of pessimism
– Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping
– Irritability, restlessness
– Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex
– Increase or loss in appetite
– Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems unrelieved with treatment
– Persistent sadness, anxiety or “empty” feelings
– Suicidal thoughts and/or suicide attempts
Feeling sad, lonely or depressed at times is definitely normal to anyone especially as a reaction to loss, struggles in life, or a fractioned self-esteem. However, when it adversely affects your family, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health, then you might already need the help of medical professionals.
Symptoms of major depression should not be taken lightly as it may go from bad to worse if left untreated and may cause life-threatening actions. At least one out of ten people with major depressive disorder ended their own life.
Antidepressants are often the first treatment for people with depression. The most common class of antidepressants is SSRIs or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. This type of antidepressant includes Zoloft which is also known by its generic name sertraline hydrochloride.
SSRIs work on the neurotransmitter serotonin which is important for the communication between brain cells. Several conditions which include depression may develop as levels of serotonin dwindle. Zoloft blocks serotonin absorption to make sure that there is enough serotonin for the transmission of chemical signals.
Finding out if you have major depression often requires the help of your health care provider but we’ve found that most medicines cannot cure the type of depression that results from some of the harsh sufferings, setbacks, losses and evils that happens as a result of living life. God’s medical cure for depression is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the 1 and only Son of God specializes in healing sickness, disease, depression, fevers, leprosy, evil spirits, demon spirits, and flesh eating conditions that defy human explanation. He is willing to be your primary care physician in the deep dark place of depression if you find yourself trapped there and unable to get out. He is ready to take your case if you are ready to call Him for an appointment. He waits for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week to call Him for an appointment through your prayers so that He can begin a good work in your life to turn your mourning into joy, your ashes into beauty and your depression into happiness. Want or need His help? Join us in this simple prayer;
I am inviting you into the despairs of my life that is causing me to be depressed, I am asking you to come into my circumstances and become my new primary care physician and fix the disorder of my mind and my thought process which is causing me to be depressed. I do want the abundant life that you spoke of in John 10:10 and I need your help to make it so, I invite you to come into my life and my circumstances and become my personal Lord and Savior and transform depression’s grip on me so that I will be set free from the clutches of depression’s hold on my life. – Amen!
